Family:  Myctophidae (Lanternfishes), subfamily: Lampanyctinae
Max. size:  11 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 441 - 3400 m
Distribution:  North Pacific: Sea of Okhotsk, Kuril Islands, and the Pacific coast of the USA; widely distributed in subarctic waters (Ref. 559).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 13-14; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 14-16. Fin rays dark brown to black (Ref. 559).
Biology:  Mesopelagic species (Ref. 559).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 29 June 2018 Ref. (130435)
