Distribution:  South America: Orinoco, Casiquiare, and Negro River basins.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 0-0; Anal soft rays: 170-302. Two to four black wide vertical bands on the body, resembling saddles; long tail (20-30% in total length); 20-22 precaudal vertebrae (Ref. 26457).
Biology:  Maximum length reported to reach 35.5 cm TL (Ref. 26457).
