Max. size:  15.39 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater; pH range: 6 - 8; dH range: 5 - 12
Distribution:  Asia: Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Nepal.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits creeks with rocky and gravel bottoms (Ref. 12045). Oviparous (Ref. 205).

Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Occurs in Janakpur, Kosi and Narayani zones at altitudes of 120-190 m (Ref. 9496); Trisuli, Bagmati and Rapti rivers, preferring rocky and gravel bed creeks (Ref. 57735). Used as ornamental fish by Buddhists (Ref. 12045). Also Ref. 4832, 6351.
