Anal soft rays: 14-17. It is distinguished with a yellow/orange stripe along the lateral midline, extending to the entire length of the caudal fin; D2 I,14-16; A I,14-17; P 18-20. The vomer has no teeth. Body scales are absent except for a few cycloid scales (2-3) at the base of the caudal fin. Absence of intraorbital pore C; paired intraorbital pores D; and eye diamater 7-9% SL (Ref. 128886). |
Found in deep reefs, schooling at the top or bottom of vertical walls, with a stretch of sand and small rocks, at depths of 88 to 201 meters. The largest specimens were 2.22 cm for males and 2.15 cm for females (Ref. 128886). |
