Max. size:  15 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater; brackish; pH range: 7; dH range: 10, potamodromous
Distribution:  Asia: India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Malay archipelago (Ref. 4833). Recorded from the Mekong (Ref. 4792, 36625).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in ponds, beels, canals and rivers (Ref. 1479). Occurs in medium to large-sized rivers of the lower and middle Mekong (Ref. 12975).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 11 October 2009 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
