| Comments | Filter-feeding invertebrates (either sessile or mobile) play important roles in almost all aquatic ecosystems. Filter-feeding species are found in almost all marine and freshwater phyla and show an enormous variety in functional traits. Above other groups, I am especially fascinated by gelatinous zooplankton (primarily medusae, siphonophores, ctenophores and pelagic tunicates). | |
