Two males 88 and 93 cm long were caught 14 Aug. 1902 from "M.Sars" at the Faroe Bank, depth 750 m. 8 males 87-99 cm and 5 females 92-128 cm long were taken on greatline 21 July 1956, 60°48'N.11°28'W, depth 500 fathoms.
