Comments:
The eel is one of the Finland's native fish species, but without stocking it will disappear, because of dams at the rivermouths. Stocks in lakes are complemented through import of juveniles for stock enhancement. It is planned to import eel fry annually from quarantine in Sweden. Also introduced from Denmark and France in 1960. Reintroduced in 1970 and 1989. Also Ref. 6114 and 74657.
