Introduced in the 1900s. Known from the Italian peninsula and islands (Ref. 94493), and recently recorded in water bodies of the Piemonte region (13729). Naturalized in 1906 (Ref. 45688). Preys on native species (Ref. 94493). Also Ref. 1739, 6375, 59043.
