Comments:
Occurs in the Mekong basin. Collected from Khong Falls (Ref. 4792). Inhabits riffles, slow deep reaches of the Mekong basin at Muang Khong District (Ref. 37769 ). Undertakes upstream non-reproductive migration from December-March/April and downstream migration in June-July at Hat Village, Muang Khong District (Ref. 37769 ). Also migrates dowstream during the wet season in July-August through Hoo Som Yai at the Great Fault Line on the Mekong River, Champassack Province (Ref. 37771). Observed to undergo migration and fished heavily at the fishing village of Ban Wernsonkhram on Don Hat (Hat Island) above the Lee Pee Waterfalls (Ref. 10431). Upstream the Khone Falls, this species starts its upstream migration in the dry season from February to May and continues in the beginning of the rainy season. This may represent two separate migrations, a dry season non-reproductive migration of smaller fish and an early rainy season migration of larger fish in spawning condition (Ref. 37770). Also Ref. 30857, 37767, 56905.
