Espinhos dorsais (total) : 15 - 17; Raios dorsais moles (total) : 9 - 11; Espinhos anais: 3; Raios anais moles: 8 - 10. Diagnosis: no protuberance on the chest (Ref. 55908). Low number of gill-rakers (Ref. 27611, 55908). Pores and bones in infraorbital series on the head small; lower jaw 44.7-51.1% head length; 3-4 rows of scales on cheek starting from ventroposterior corner (Ref. 55908).

More or less evenly distributed below 60m (Ref. 55908). Prefers sandy and muddy bottoms (Ref. 5595).
