Comments: Type locality of the holotype of Otopharynx alpha: 'Malawi: Lake Malawi, Nankumba Peninsula, trammel nets set overnight 75 m from shore in 9 m depth, at about 14°01'45"S 34°49'43"E' (Ref. 119408). Known from Lake Malawi (Ref. 119408).
