Comments: Generate more income for the fish farmers. Probably imported as red tilapia variety. Found in freshwater reservoirs and ponds. Wild populations may be introgressed hybrids with O. aureus and O. mossambicus. May have contributed to decline of wild stocks of O. mossambicus by hybridizing with it (Ref. 52035).Also Ref. 38466, 46247, 108093.
