Diagnosis |
This species can be diagnosed from all congeners by having flank with eight longitudinal rows of spots, among which the spots of the three dorsal-most rows are reddish brown and separated by small interspace, and the spots of the other five rows are red and in contact to form long red stripes (vs. spots never forming that arrangement pattern). This also differs from all other species of Anablepsoides from the Brazilian Amazon by having two well defined bright yellow stripes on the dorsal and ventral margins of the caudal fin in males (vs. stripes diffuse or absent) (Ref. 94717). Description: Caudal fin elliptical (Ref. 94717). |
