Description: moderately slender-bodied, with a short head and small mouth; frontal profile straight to slightly rounded; caudal fin truncate to subtruncate (Ref. 52307).

Coloration: preserved specimens: body bronze to brown; dorsal and caudal fin with rows of reddish-brown maculae; anal fin with several well-developed, reddish egg spots in males (Ref. 52307).
