Diagnosed from congeners in Balkan Peninsula by the following characters: strongly arched mouth, lower lip with thin but well developed cornified sheath; scales on lateral line 51-59; ½8/1/4 scales in transverse row between dorsal-fin and pelvic-fin origins; dorsal fin with 8-9½ branched rays; anal fin with 9-10½ branched rays; and 14-17 gill rakers (Ref. 59043). |
