The species is characterized by the following: rakers on the first gill arch 21-23; abdominal vertebrae 11, total vertebrae 29, haemal arch of the first caudal vertebra with 2 ventrolateral oriented spurs; D III 15-16; P 14-155; seven soft rays in the ventral fin; ventral fin starts under the vertical line of the posterior margin of the pectoral fin basement or from this vertical line); anal fin starts under the last ray of the dorsal fin (Ref. 87970).
