It is distinguished by having 33-34 free vertebrae, minimal coloration, reduction or absence of cornea, long nasal and maxillary barbels, nine branching pectoral-fin rays, where the first ray is prolonged as a long filament (to about 80% of pectoral-fin length), a rounded caudal fin, the upper part longer than the lower part and a coloration of light-red to pale rose. |
