Facultative air-breathing in the genus (Ref. 126274); Associated with Strongylocentrotus franciscanus. Adults feed mainly on amphipods but captive specimens also feed on isopods which live commensally on the urchin (Ref. 33548). Oviparous, with attached, demersal eggs and planktonic larvae (Ref. 36496).
