Etymology: Apareiodon: Greek, a = without + Greek, pareia, -as = cheek + Greek, odous = teeth (Ref. 45335).
Eponymy: William Baldwin Davis lived in Philadelphia. Fowler mentions that he was: “…indebted for many American fishes” from his large circle of friends and acquaintances. W B Davis was one of that circle, but we can find nothing more about him. (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
