Short description Identification keys | Morphology | Morphometrics

Dorsal soft rays (total): 7; Anal spines: 1; Anal soft rays: 5. This species does not possess unique character that distinguishes from all other congeners except its barcode sequence, the most divergent of all Harttiella representatives (JF292286 to JF292296). Differs from other congeners of the crassicauda group except Harttiella intermedia, by having a longer caudal peduncle (mean = 44.26 ± 1.48% of SL vs 36.14 ± 1.66 < mean < 40.36 ± 1.06% of SL); and from other representatives of the longicauda group, by having a greater cleithral width (mean = 101.65 ± 3.28% of HL vs 94.50 ± 4.0 0 < mean < 95.78 ± 4.04% of HL). Can be diagnosed from Harttiella intermedia by having a smaller predorsal length (mean = 35.95 ± 1.19% of SL vs 37.93 ± 1.07% of SL) (Ref. 90209).
