This species is distinguished by the following set of characters: branched caudal-fin rays 16; pelvic-fin rays i, 6-7; upper lip with median incision; processus dentiformis absent in upper jaw; body scaleless; eye diameter smaller than interorbital width; dorsal-fin origin closer to snout tip base than to caudal-fin base; caudal peduncle depth less than caudal peduncle length (Ref. 137454).
