Etymology: Bidenichthys: Latin, bi = two + Greek, dens, dentis = teeth + Greek, ichthys = fish (Ref. 45335).
Eponymy: C Leo Biden of Cape Town was described as a ‘knowledgeable angler’, and a person “…to whom the South African Museum is indebted for many specimens and much information.” He wrote: Sea-Angling Fishes of the Cape (1948).
