Dorsal soft rays (total): 11; Anal soft rays: 7 - 8. Similar to Sinocyclocheilus donglanensis and Sinocyclocheilus altishoulderus, but distinguished from these two species by having lateral line scales larger than that of body scales (vs. lateral scales equal body scales), 12~14 gill-rakers (vs. 10~12 and 0~12 and 4~5), 3 rows of pharyngeal teeth, 2.3.4/4.3.2 are different with 2.3.5/5.3.2 of Sinocyclocheilus altishoulderus (Ref. 82586).
Inhabits subterranean river (Ref. 82586).
