Its supraoccipital process doesn't reach the anterior nuchal plate, 43-45 vertebrae, maxillary barbels that reaches between the adpressed anal-fin end and caudal-fin origin, epiphyseal branch of supraorbital laterosensory canal appearing as two distantly-positioned pores and a black mark at distal third of dorsal fin, between dorsal-fin spine and third branched ray.
Known from river basins, with shallow and clear water streams, near marginal vegetation.
