Adults are common on coastal fringing reefs and offshore platform reefs (Ref. 50559). Found in groups above coral (Ref. 50559). Feed on zooplankton (Ref. 50559). Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Eggs are demersal and adhere to the substrate (Ref. 205). Males guard and aerate the eggs (Ref. 205).
