Body silvery gray and slightly dark with wide black stripes to snout in midlines of body, and 4 vertical black lines above the stripes; small black spots on dorsal and caudal fins and a big black spot on base of caudal fin. Snout pointed and depressed; mouth slit almost vertical; nostril openings small and nearer to eyes than to tip of snout (Ref. 45563).
