Distinguishing characteristics: length of premaxillae 23.5-27.0% SL; short anterior premaxillary teeth: I-1: 2.2-3.5, II-1: 1.1-2.3, II-2: 3.0-5.6, II-3: 3.8-5.8, III-1: 1.1-1.8, III-2: 0.8-2.3, III-3: 1.8-3.4, IV-1: 0.6-1.5, IV-2:0.9-2.3, V-1: 0.6-1.4, V-2: 0.8-2.6 mm; esca with 2-3 pairs of laterally directed lobes, prolonged into tapering tentacle-like filaments in larger specimens; dorsal most medial escal appendage digitiform and tapering (Ref. 86949).
