Taggstrålar i ryggfenan (totalt) : 0; Taggstrålar i analfenan: 0; Mjukstrålar i analfenan: 15 - 18. Body fairly slender, somewhat compressed. Snout very short, about 1/2 eye diameter; maxilla very short, tip bluntly rounded, reaching only a little beyond hind border of eye; gill cover canal pattern not recorded. Anal fin fairly short, its origin below about middle of dorsal fin base.

Biologi     Ordlista (t.ex. epibenthic)

Occurs in large schools together with juvenile Anchovia surinamensis and slightly larger juvenile Lycengraulis batesii, which appear to feed on the Anchoviella. Mature by about 2 cm SL; a female of 2.5 cm had 157 large eggs in the ovary. This is evidently a progenetic species (adult at juvenile stage).

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5000   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.00537 (0.00253 - 0.01141), b=3.13 (2.96 - 3.30), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this (Sub)family-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trofisk nivå (Ref. 69278):  3.1   ±0.4 se; based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Resiliens (Ref. 120179):  Hög, lägsta populationsfördubblingstid mindre än 15 månader (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100).
