North America: in Gila River system in New Mexico and Arizona and streams south to western Mexico (Ref. 5723). Occurs naturally in the Colorado and Yaqui river basins at altitudes ranging from sea level to 1500 m. Note that high altitude occurrences are most commonly associated with outflows and springs.

биология     глоссарий (например epibenthic)

Formerly occurred from Frisco Hot Spring, New Mexico, to near the mouth of the Gila River: it was perhaps more widespread in spring-fed creeks and marshes of southern Arizona between 900 and 1500 m above sea level. Inhabits vegetated springs and margins, pools and backwaters of creeks and small to medium rivers. Usually found in shallow, warm water.

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5000   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.01023 (0.00456 - 0.02295), b=3.13 (2.95 - 3.31), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this (Sub)family-body shape (Ref. 93245).
устойчивость к внешним воздействиям (Ref. 120179):  высокий, минимальное время удвоения популяции до 15 месяцев (tmax=1).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100).
