背棘 (總數) : 6; 背的軟條 (總數) : 10 - 11; 臀棘: 1; 臀鰭軟條: 7; 脊椎骨: 28. Distinguished by the combination of characters: 2nd dorsal fin rays modally I/9; body with 5 or 6 lateral blackish-brown blotches; and male with long filamentous rays in 1st dorsal fin and cheek with about 40 small rounded white spots (Ref. 33279). Anal fin with one simple and 7 branched rays (Ref. 43281).
區別的特徵為組合特徵了: 第二背鰭鰭條典型地 I/9; 身體有 5 或 6個側部暗褐色的斑塊; 而且在第一背鰭中雄魚有長的絲狀鰭條而且頰部有大約 40個小的圓形白色的斑點.(參考文獻 33279) 臀鰭有一單一的與 7個分支條.(參考文獻 43281)
