Eastern Atlantic: Portugal to South Africa (gap between the South Equatorial Countercurrent and Benguela Current). Western Atlantic: Canada to Gulf of Mexico, lesser extent in Caribbean and North Sargasso seas, isolates from Brazil to Argentina. Indian Ocean: 0°-39°S. Western Pacific: Taiwan to Australia.
