Mjukstrålar i ryggfenan (totalt) : 11 - 12; Mjukstrålar i analfenan: 19 - 21; Ryggkotor: 38 - 39. This species is distinguished by having these characters: gill rakers 31-35 + 41-46 = 72-82; a short upper jaw, reaching to just before or behind anterior margin of preopercle (Ref. 83462).
