خارهاي باله پشتي (کل) : 11; شعاع نرم باله پشتي (کل) : 15 - 17; خارهاي باله مخرجي: 3; شعاع نرم باله مخرجي: 13 - 14. This species is distinguished by the following: fifth body stripe relatively straight, without an inflection; no spots and short dashes on the breast and lower body (Ref. 123714).
Juveniles and young adults are often seen in rock pools and rocky shores to 5 meters. Adults are more commonly seen near rocky reefs, but are also common in harbours, embankments, and under piers, where they occur in large groups (Ref. 123714).
