Dorsal spines (total): 7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8 - 9; Anal spines: 1; Anal soft rays: 8 - 9. This small Schismatogobius species is distinguished by the following characters: pectoral rays16-17 (mostly 17), fins with a medium black triangular wedge dorsally usually with 2 vertical rows of dark spots below it; first dorsal-fin membrane posterior to spine 6 is not connected to the base of spine of second dorsal fin; ventral surface of head in males blackish or greyish in the medium part; ventral surface of head in female mainly whitish; frenum whitish. There is a single mitochondrial lineage observed for this species (BOLD: AEA7944) (Ref. 123786).
Collected in a freshwater stream which has moderate to fast flow in shallow areas of boulders, gravel and sand (Ref. 123786).
