Short description

Radios blandos dorsales (total) : 6; Radios blandos anales: 9; Vértebra: 30 - 39. Males of this species are distinguished from all its congeners by uniquely possessing orange unpaired fins with marginal blue stripe (vs. never this coloration); males also differ from its congeners except L. jauaperi, L. uatuman, L. ubim by having an irregular arrangement of light blue dots on the flank (vs. never this coloration), but differs from L. jauaperi and L. ubim by the number of pelvic fin rays 6 (vs. 5) and branchiostegal rays 5 (vs. 4), and males of L. uatuman with vertebrae 30 (vs. 31-32) (Ref. 130532).
Specimens were collected in a swampy area with a very slight flow within the Amazonian forest and water depth was only a few centimetres (Ref. 130532).
