Known from the littoral Atlantic and Manch, entering the Loire and the rivers of Normandy (Ref. 30578). Also known from the Gironde estuary (Ref. 51442) and the Mont Saint-Michel Bay (Ref. 38302). Its distribution area has strongly decreased because of obstacles to its migration (Ref. 40476). Used as a sentinel for estuarians areas because of its survey in low quality water (Ref. 40476).
