Fish affected:
Symptoms:	A cotton-like dots on the injured tissue can be seen. Also this fungal knots may also be found in the gills.
Treatments:	Know the real cause of the puffed cotton-like dots (which are usually bacterial infection). It is important to control first this bacterial infection before treatment of the secondary fungal infection. Use an anti-microbial medicine to fight off the bacterial infection and at the same time use FMC (1 liter of Formaldehyde (37%) (or 100 ml), 3.7 gm of Malachite Green oxalate (or 0.37 gm), 3.7 gm of Methylene Blue (or 0.37 gm)), dose is 1.0-1.2 ml/100 l tank water or 25 drops/100 l or 1 drop/gallon. An anti-fungal medicine is needed to control the fungal infection. Also it is advised that once or twice the fish should be dip in a diluted anti-fungal solution or swab the solution on some of the infected part. Methylene Blue (0.3-0.5 gm/100 l for 3 days in a separate tank), Salt, Copper Sulfate (Stock-solution: 4 gm/1 liter, 20 ml/100 l or 4 drops/liter), Potassium Permanganate (400-800 mg/100 liter for 60-90 minutes), Povidone-iodine (1 drop/4 drops of water), or Eosin can be applied effectively.
Prophylaxis:
Remarks:	Healthy fish are rarely affected by this fungi. Fungal infection causes further damage of the tissue by deteriorating the injured part of the fish. Also Ref. 41806.
