Inhabits muddy, fast flowing rivers, 12 m wide and 3 m deep (Ref. 9685). Has not been recorded from estuarine areas (Ref. 57343). Esteemed food fish in western Sarawak, Kalimantan, Malaysia (Ref. 57343).
