Etymology: Pseudochromis: Greek, pseudes = false + Greek, chromis = a fish, perhaps a perch (Ref. 45335).
Eponymy: James Schultz (d: 1931) is the son of the author Leonard Peter Schultz (1901–1986). He was 12 years old when this fish was named. He was honoured in the binomial because he “…is interested in natural history.” (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
