Xenocyprididae (East Asian minnows)
Etymology: Aphyocypris: Greek, aphye, -es, sardine, anchovy + Greek, Cypris = Aphrodite (Ref. 45335).
Eponymy: Yonetaro Kikuchi (1869–1921) was a collector for the Taipei Museum in Formosa (Taiwan). He collected examples of the Mikado Pheasant (Syrmaticus mikado) for Alan Owston (q.v.). A reptile, a bird and a mammal are also named after him. (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
