পৃষ্ঠীয় কাঁটা (মোট ) : 16 - 17; পৃষ্ঠীয় নরম পাখনা দন্ড (মোট ) : 11 - 12; পায়ূ কাঁটা : 3; পায়ূর নরম পাখনা্তুন্ড: 9 - 10; কশেরুকা : 32 - 33.

Common at depths of about 10 m. Prefers shallow water and is usually found together with large, sand-dwelling cichlids. Opportunistic feeder that is attracted to any moving object that stirs up some sediment (Ref. 5595).
