Etymology: Aulonocara: Greek, aulos = flute + Greek, kara = face, head (Ref. 45335).
Eponymy: Jacob ‘Jack’ Freiberg of African Fish Import, Verona, New Jersey, USA was an importer of tropical fish. He co-collected the type. (Also see Freiberg) (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
