Scales keeled; ventral surface scaleless from pectoral fins to vent; 6 saddles on dorsum with last 3 extending down to connect with mid-lateral blotches; lateral blotches form an irregular shape (Ref. 12693).
Inhabits high gradient streams and rivers with fast water over bedrock, boulder or cobble substrate.
