Etymology: Devario: Bangla/Bengali:‘debari’, local name for these fishes; also meaning ‘brother in law’ (Ref. 2031).
Environment: milieu / climate zone / depth range / distribution range
Ecologia
; acqua dolce benthopelagico. Subtropical
Asia: Irrawaddy drainage in Yunnan, China.
Size / Peso / Age
Maturity: Lm ?  range ? - ? cm
Max length : 5.1 cm SL maschio/sesso non determinato; (Ref. 37787)
Raggi dorsali molli (totale) : 10 - 12; Raggi anali molli: 12 - 14; Vertebre: 33 - 36. Without lateral line, without infraorbital process; with mostly 7 branched dorsal fin rays and 10 branched anal fin rays. Can be distinguished from other Danio species by the following combination of characters: narrow, indistinct dark vertical bars anteriorly on the sides, followed by a wide, indistinct, tapering horizontal stripe to the end of the caudal peduncle; barbels absent.
