Raios dorsais (total) : 8; Raios anais : 6. This species is distinguished from its closely related congeners G. amirhosseini, G. mondica, G. persica. G. rufa in having a shallow mental disc completely fused with the chin (vs. mental disc fully developed and structured), tubercles on the head absent (vs. present) and a naked breast and belly (vs. belly covered by scales, breast naked or covered by scales) (Ref. 128956).
