Rayons mous dorsaux (Total) : 5 - 6; Rayons mous anaux: 4; Vertèbres: 19. Disk markedly indented at rostrum. Ventral side of disk and tail anterior to anal fin without tubercles, except the lateral line scales on either side of anus. Cephalic lateral line scale counts: preopercular 2; subopercular 5-6; dorsolateral branch of subopercular 1-3; supraorbital 3-4. Lateral line scale counts on body 6-7; tail 9-11. Disk compressed, subquadrangular, very short relative to SL. Short rostrum overlying the mouth, but not extending anterior margin of disk. Small eyes, interorbital narrow. Subterminal mouth. Esca with 2 rounded ventral lobes and a thin, elongate, median dorsal lobe, bifurcated at distal end. Gill rakers small, cone-shaped with few teeth. Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5010   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.02291 (0.00925 - 0.05675), b=2.94 (2.72 - 3.16), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this (Sub)family-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Niveau trophique (Ref. 69278):  3.2   ±0.5 se; based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Résilience (Ref. 120179):  Haut, temps minimum de doublement de population inférieur à 15 mois (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100).
