Anterior margin of pectoral fin base without a dark vertical band. Ctenoid scales on trunk. Sensory papillae: row 1, 5-8; row 2, 4-5; row 3, 5-7; row 4, 4-7; row 5, 3-5; row y, 1; row tr, absent (Ref. 41100).
Inhabits small crevices in vertical rock outcrops; also collected from a tide pool (Ref. 41100). Also found from intertidal and shallow subtidal to depths up to 65 m (Ref. 92840).
