Duri punggung (Keseluruhan (total)) : 0; duri punggung lunak (Keseluruhan (total)) : 13 - 17; Duri dubur: 0; Sirip dubur lunak: 15 - 16. Males with dark red spots on lower part of head and throat; dorsal and anal fins with wide white-blue to light blue margins; caudal fin plain red; females with spots on head, body and unpaired fins (Ref. 42930).
Body shape (shape guide): fusiform / normal.
