背棘 (總數) : 9 - 11; 背的軟條 (總數) : 27 - 31; 臀鰭軟條: 36 - 39. A large species with modal counts of 10 dorsal spines, 40 total dorsal fin supports, 37 segmented anal rays, 15 pectoral rays, two preopercular canal pores and 5 predorsal bones; upper lip fimbriae usually 9-10; eye diameter greater than preorbital length; lateral line interrupted or complete (Ref. 39697).
